The Leftovers of Love

"My art has never been a reflection of my fickle happiness. My art is a reflection of my heart and the pain that scraped the cages of my ribs to be liberated. I let you out to let more of me in. There's no room for both of us. One has to go and in fear of losing myself, I will feel and cry and scream and write. I will make room for myself."

Poetry: Quote

Unhealthy

You are heartache and pain personified
Sweet nothings entangled in lies
You are the ravenous shark in the sea
The vulture in the tree
You are unhealthy
You are no good for me.

Poetry: Text

Foolish

So there I was
Loving less of myself
and more of you
Half full filling you up
Until I was empty
There’s nothing left in me
You’re full
And I’m a fool
For loving you

Poetry: Text

A Yes From God

You are my safest haven
A fortitude from my frustrations
You bring peace to my raging seas
A refreshing ocean breeze
You seize my demons.
You are who I prayed for
The personification of a yes from God.
A nod. A well done. A good job.
You are my gift.
